I hope this finds you safe and healthy, practicing social distancing, and spending time with the ones you love. My life has been quiet with walks in the woods, yoga daily, and on-line classes. I must confess I miss seeing my students, yet I know they are doing the best they can, as we all are, I hope.
This photo was taken close to sunset tonight at a special place in my heart. I am looking to get an inspirational kick. Writing hasn’t been easy this last month, nothing has been, right?
Yet together, with positivity, this too shall pass.
I am still on a bit of a high between the launch of Harlot’s grace at Central Authors on Wednesday and an Allman Betts Band concert yesterday.
In my world, this would be referred to as a perfect week!
Between the two, my creative juices have been flowing. On very little sleep and a slight dancing hangover, I managed to write over 1,000 words on Harlot’s Fall (I am at the exciting part!), edit a few photos (posted on my Instagram account) and spend a little quality time with Jessie the dog (and for those who are not in the know, the dog runs the house).
In this quiet moment I am thinking about how music plays such an important part in my creative process. There is something about the energy absorbed at a live show that sparks plot points and scenes within whatever story I am trying to create. Since I started taking photos, my imagination has been in overdrive.
I thank all those who play, who create, and who support. And am going back to work because we never know when the buzz will end.
